Top Tips for an Eco-Friendly Wedding

Here at Razzle Dazzle Rose we pride ourselves on our Eco- Friendly reputation and always strive to maintain this ethos in everything that we do. There are lots of great ideas for making your wedding as environmentally friendly as possible and we thought we would share some of our favourite tips and ideas with you.

An Eco Friendly wedding is actually quite easy to achieve, just ask yourself - Can this be re-used? Has this product come from a sustainable source? Will my wedding leave a large carbon footprint?

Recycled Wedding Stationery

Let’s start with Wedding Stationery, which is very close to our heart. Here at Razzle Dazzle Rose we strive to use recycled materials whenever possible and we are proud to be members of The Woodland Trust Carbon Capture Scheme. We donate a percentage of our sales from card stock to The Woodland Trust for new tree growth in natural woodland.

Brown Kraft card is a wonderful product and is made from 100% recycled pulp board. It teams up really well with other colours too and lends itself beautifully to a ‘rustic’ wedding style. Above are some of our favourites….

Use Natural Confetti

There are some gorgeous natural confetti ideas out there, we especially love this biodegradable leaf confetti. This would be a brilliant project for younger members of the family to undertake, it’s easy to do and would definitely make the children feel part of the proceedings.

Other lovely confetti ideas are old music sheets rolled to form a cone and filled with dried lavender – just imagine the wonderful aroma! Alternatively, brown kraft paper cones can be filled to the brim with dried flower petals – very pretty!

Wedding Favours – Give Useable instead of Disposable

We love, love, love these little herb favours! Seeds are carefully wrapped in pages from pre loved books, tied with garden twine and stamped with the variety on the front. They look very rustic and could be grouped in a shallow basket with a sign…perhaps ‘Let Love Grow’

Recycled/Growing Table Decorations

A collection of washed tins can be used for planting succulents or herbs to make an eye-catching table centerpiece. A table number tag can be made from a recycled kraft card and attached to a wooden skewer to give it a bit of height. The best thing is that these little tins can be given away at the end of the day.

Here’s Your Glass For the Night….

This is a great idea for keeping the washing up to a minimum, if paper straws and recycled name tags are used too it’s a sure fire eco-friendly alternative to hiring lots of glasses.

Consider Renting Props

There are some fantastic wedding hire companies around these days and you can source some amazing props for your wedding. These range from photo backdrops to chalk board signs and table plans written on old window frames. All these items can be used again and again for future weddings.

New Botanical Blooms Stationery Range

Hi Everyone!
I'd like to share with you new botanical range of stationery we have been busy working on this week. We've two new exciting ranges to launch this week, the botanical blooms is the first. We will release the watercolour range later this week too!

The Botanical Bloom stationery range has been designed and printed by us in our Nottinghamshire warehouse, and we think they are perfect for weddings, celebrations garden parties and birthdays too!The brightly floral designs remind us of Spring and Summer flowers which will soon be out in abundance in the UK.

The luxury stationery range has been printed on 350gm watercolour card, giving a lovely hand painted finish and look and texture.

The range of coloured blooms matches our brown kraft envelopes, navy and green too...

The full range includes envelope liners too! We have added some luxury card envelopes in navy to compliment the botanical colours...

And also designed them so they look nice with green too...

Personalised menu tags tucked into a linen napkin with a sprig of fern to complete the look...

We've even designed personalised round stickers too, these look great on envelopes.

The stickers can also be used on our gift boxes.

As many of my friends like to receive little notelets from me, I've designed them some in the botanical range too!

You can really see the textured card on this photo.

And finally, we designed some thank you cards. These will soon be available for Birthday cards too. Why not add a finishing touch by adding a little luxury sage ribbon from janemeans.com too.

Crochet heart love ..

We are so excited to share one of our new products with you!

Have you seen our new crochet hearts? Each crochet heart measures 7.5cm x 8cm, and is available in white or cream. They can be used for bunting, for adding to glass jars, as place names or on wedding stationery, the list of possibilities is endless. Here are a few ideas we have created for you.

1) place names
If you are having a vintage wedding, why not use them as a place name setting.
Here we hand stamped a name on a little calico or plain white or cream linen, we added a few little buttons, and attached some of our cream crochet lace to the back, and then wrapped around a napkin.

2) Wedding Favour wands

To create the 'wands' we painted the hearts with a solution of mixed pva glue and water on both sides to stiffen the crochet material. About 50 /50 is the right mixture to stiffen the crochet. Leave to dry overnight, once dry hot glue a wooden skewer to the back. ( we used kebab sticks). To decorate, we added some of our crochet ribbon or some natural twine if you prefer, and tied in a bow to the front. You can then either hand stamp a message, add your guests name or a table number and add them into a pot of flowers. To complete, add a few wooden buttons and you're done!

3) Gift tags
We added a natural twine bow to the front with hot glue, and then glued a loop to the back, These could be used as gifts tags

4) bunting

We have created 2 bunting kits - one with kraft or cream card bunting, and one with just. twine.

kraft card bunting kit, available with cream or brown card, and cream or white crochet hearts.

completed card bunting kit, decorated with wooden buttons, and with cream hearts.

plain hanging bunting kit in white

we think they look great hung from vintage suitcases too!

5) wedding stationery. Are you getting married and looking for unusual wedding stationery... why not glue a crochet heart to a gatefold card? Using the same method as the wands above to stiffen the crochet, you will need to hot glue to the left hand panel of the folded card, add a few buttons and a hand stamped message and wrap some natural twine around.

Our Gatefold card kits are available in cream or brown card, with the envelopes in cream or brown too.

All the above items can be purchased on our website. All products that are highlighted can be clicked on to go direct to the goods in our website.

Enjoy!

Easter Treats

Is it time for Easter? This week we have been playing with a few bright colours for our Easter treats.

We've teamed our favourite cerise card and dotty ribbon with a splash of aqua and made some gorgeous ribbon boxes to hold little chocolates or mini eggs, perfect for gift giving this Easter.

Our pale pink tags looks great with a few coloured Easter bunnies too!

Supplies:
The ribbon boxes can be made in any colour, and can purchased on our website here: http://www.razzledazzlerose.co.uk/ribbon-boxes-x-10-25907-p.asp

We used ribbon from Jane Means, for the aqua box we used the Fuchsia Spotty Ribbon http://www.janemeans.com/fuchsia-white-dotty-ribbon-p-12410.html

For the cerise box we used blue stitched ribbon http://www.janemeans.com/blue-stitched-ribbon-15mm-p-549.html

For the Easter bunnies, I downloaded a bunny shape from Google and stuck them on our pink luggage tags. Happy Easter, hand written in modern calligraphy.
